Air Coils Using Flat Helical Windings
Thickness: From 0.3mm ( 0.012" or 12 mils) to 2.5mm ( 0.09" or 90 mils)
Width : From 0.6mm ( 0.023") to 7.5mm ( 0.3")

Flat Helical windings are popular in application where a high stacking ratio is required. It has good thermal properties and low skin effects in high frequency applications due to large surface area and shallow skin depth.

It is commonly used in high current inductors, common mode chokes, differential mode chokes, power factor correction inductors and transformers. Other application includes motor windings, etc.

Since each helical winding is custom made, a tooling fee is required for all special sizes. However, if the volume is large. We will amortize the cost of the tooling in the unit price. The insulation used are class 200 deg C or class 155 deg C.
