The encapsulated CT-100x-xx DC-Tolerant Current Transformers are perfect for use in measuring instruments (ammeters, voltmeter, etc) and energy meters (kilowatt-hour meters, etc) where a DC current is also riding on the same power line. The CT-100x-xx Series can accurately measure 15 Hz to 200 Hz AC-line current where a substantial DC-current is also present in the same power line, with an accuracy class of 0.5%. This series can also be used in applications where there is no dc-current on the line as well. Other applications include detecting and measuring AC signals on high current DC power lines, detecting DC power lines transients or interruptions or disturbances.
The CT-100x-xx handles a rated primary line AC current of 20 Amps to 120 Amps rms, and can withstand a DC current of 35 Amps to 140 Amps on the same power line. It has has a center hole of 0.36 to 0.5" for the user to insert the primary line. The dimension is 1.25H x 1.25L to 1.5"H x 1.5"L. The maximum thickness is 0.56. CT-100x series is designed to meet the IEC 60044-1 and IEEE C5.7.139 ( ANSI) specifications. IEC 60044-1 and IEEE C5.7.13 9(ANSI) applies to newly manufactured current transformers for use with electrical measuring instruments and electrical protective devices at frequencies from 15 Hz to 100 Hz.
